Well… it’s not a hurricane
On Saturday, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will host the Louisville Cardinals in the annual Irish Wear Green game. Throughout the week, it’s been suggested by a number of writers and commenters that this might be the biggest game of the year for the Irish. Even if that isn’t exactly the case in terms of a one game showdown, it certainly is the biggest game of the year as we put it up against the stakes of the season.
These type of games are decided in a variety of ways, but sometimes — sometimes the weather gets involved for better or for worse. The weather could be a factor again with Notre Dame and Louisville, just as it was in 2020.
After weeks of hot dry air, South Bend is seeing the season change and cooler wet air is on the way. On Saturday, it will be a comfortable 73 degrees, but with 20 mph winds and almost 40 mph gusts — it may make the passing game for both teams a little more uncomfortable. There will be some rain, but it won’t be one of those all game pours.
Prepare accordingly.
