Here we go
There have been two spots open on Notre Dame Football’s 2025 schedule for a while now, but it has finally been revealed that the Miami Hurricanes are one of the pieces of the schedule puzzle.
Miami will host Notre Dame at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Fla., on a date to be determined over Labor Day weekend, which means the game could played be Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Labor Day Monday (August 28-September 1).
The Miami-Notre Dame game is part of the ACC’s agreement for its member schools to play Notre Dame each season. Miami and Notre Dame are also slated to meet in 2026, 2028, 2031, and 2037 in South Bend, Ind., and in 2032 and 2034 in Miami.
We still don’t have an offical/non-official answer about what might happen to the annual Notre Dame-Stanford game now that the Cardinal are a member of the ACC. It looks like they will now be in the fold of ACC schools that are in the Irish rotation — but maybe not.
After a 2024 season that has two MAC schools and two service academies, the Irish have 10 Power 4 schools on the 2025 schedule with the Boise State Broncos and Navy Midshipmen as the only schools from the Group of Five.
No game on the schedule is currently listed as a Shamrock Series game at a neutral site, but they wouldn’t need to announce one until the spring anyway (best guess is the Syracuse Orange if there is one).
The tally is 2 SEC, 2 Big Ten, 5 ACC, 1 MWC, 1 AAC. I’m pretty confident that the Irish will search for another Group of Five opponent, but Stanford is still there, so don’t rule that out either.
So… back to the return of the 2017 horror show. Cool.
