On Monday, Notre Dame head football coach Marcus Freeman said he would like to keep his entire staff intact for 2024.
On Tuesday afternoon, FootballScoop’s John Brice reported that Freeman and wide receivers coach Chansi Stuckey had “parted ways” after two seasons working together.
“Freeman had hired Stuckey as part of his inaugural full-time Notre Dame staff in 2022; after the 2022 season, sources told FootballScoop that Stuckey was rolled into a new, two-year deal with the program and has a full year-plus remaining on that pact,” Brice wrote.

A former Clemson star and NFL wide receiver, Stuckey came to Notre Dame after two seasons at his alma mater and one at Baylor.
With the Irish, Stuckey inherited a barren depth chart at wide receiver and was able to help the program land four-star prospects Braylon James, Rico Flores and Jaden Greathouse in the 2023 class, plus four-stars Cam Williams, Micah Gilbert and Logan Saldate in the 2024 cycle.
Notre Dame’s wide receivers were inconsistent with their production and health during the 2023 season, but Flores and Greathouse emerged as starters, combining for 43 receptions and 644 receiving yards, with Greathouse leading the team in touchdown catches with five.
On Monday, Freeman said he would “love” to have his entire coaching staff return next season.
“If it’s up to me, as I just told the coaching staff in our staff meeting, I have a strong belief in the coaches that we have in this football program and would love all of them to be back,” Freeman said, via Inside ND Sports.
“There’s obviously places that we have to improve on all three phrases. The coaches understand that. They definitely are up for the challenge.”
