Steady as she goes
The Irish head to New York this week to take on the Army Black Knights inside Yankees Stadium as part of Notre Dame’s Shamrock Series. It’s a top 20 matchup that will help shape the college football playoff as the sport heads into its final two weeks of regular season games.
Notre Dame released its depth charts — which offer no changes this week.
OFFENSE
Notre Dame’s offense remains intact this week. I do wonder a bit about the running back rotation. We are seeing more of Aneyas Williams at running back, and while some of that may be due to Devyn Ford being dinged up, we are seeing a little less of Jadarian Price as well. I’m not sure of what to make of it.
DEFENSE
Notre Dame’s defensive line has seen a number of injuries this year, but the boys keep turning into men as they become “next” each week. It will be interesting to watch the young players play assignment football this week as they go against the option.
SPECIAL TEAMS
Notre Dame’s special teams plays are exceptional — but it’s kicking game is not. With the cold and wind, it may get even more interesting this week.
