Walk it like I talk it
The Notre Dame football roster is full of great players — known and unknown. No matter the place on the depth chart or the recruiting ranking a player had attached to him before his arrival at Notre Dame — there are probably some things I really like about him. So over the course of the next few months, let’s take a positive approach to running down the roster.
Almost daily (just being honest) I’ll list three things I like about a single player on the roster, and as an additional bonus, I’ll post some extra pics over on the OFD Instagram account (be sure to follow RIGHT HERE).
First up…
#1 Jaden Greathouse — Wide Receiver
The 6’1” 215 pound junior from Westlake High School in Austin, Texas, was a big recruiting win for the Irish, and after a fantastic performance in the college football playoff, we are expecting a big 2025.
Here are three things I like about Jaden Greathouse:
1. He is a verb.
The 2023 recruiting cycle was pretty wild for Notre Dame, and especially so with some of the happenings in the state of Texas. Because of the crazy recruitment of someone else, I came across a conversation by a couple of players from Guyer High School in which they refer to catches by Jaden against them as being GREATHOUSED.
Put it in the dictionary.
2. He is big game clutch.
It’s kind of funny how nothing really matters once you hit the playoffs. Jaden Greathouse’s stats and production in the 12 games during the 2024 regular season doesn’t matter. What matters most are the two biggest games of the year in the Orange Bowl and the National Championship game. You saw what you saw — and it was an enormous answer to our prayer of need.

3. The path he took.
Greathouse was a huge get for Notre Dame. The Irish grabbed one of the best receivers in the state of Texas… and he’s still at Notre Dame. Despite the hype and a spring game where he shined (go figure), Greathouse has took small but steady steps to get where he’s at. Obviously people love a guy like Jeremiah Smith going off as a freshman, but I have a special spot for the blue-chippers that work towards that big junior year — which is coming.
