The Notre Dame Fighting Irish might just be a team of destiny this season. Despite being left for dead by most of the college football world after the loss to NIU, the Irish ripped off 10 straight wins (most in very impressive fashion) to make the college football playoff.

Even as a seven seed, the Irish weren’t getting a lot of respect around the country — especially from fans. Many felt they didn’t belong, while others thought they would fizzle out soon enough.

And yet here we are. Notre Dame beat the Indiana Hoosiers, Georgia Bulldogs, and Penn State Nittany Lions to earn its spot in the National Championship game against the Ohio State Buckeyes. As improbable as some are making an Irish win out to be, Notre Dame has been flipping the script all season long.
