The epitome of a gamer at QB is featured with just one more day to kickoff along with a starting CB
We are just one day away from Purdue’s 2024 season opener and we feature the starting QB for the Boilers in Hudson Card. Card, a transfer senior from Texas, showcased a moxy at the QB position that likened him to former Purdue (and fellow big time transfer) Robert Marve. Card played most of the front half of the season hurt and was forced to miss the Northwestern game, but was able to return somewhat healthy and finish strong with a great performance against the Hoosiers.
Card’s ability to make something out of nothing will be a big part in Purdue trying to claw its’ way to bowl eligibility this season. Card has the experience to know what to do and where to go with the ball and should have the players around him to get it done this season. A solid offensive line with experience and a slew of talented (but unproven) receivers that are big, fast, and explosive. If Purdue makes a bowl game, it may be because Card has vaulted himself into serious consideration as a round 5 to 7 NFL draft pick.
On the other side of the ball, Markevious Brown is a defensive back Purdue needs to rely on to lock down half of the field and help get Purdue’s defense off the field on third down. Brown, a transfer from Ole Miss, should be ready to step into the spotlight as a senior who possesses the speed and experience to be a starter for the Boilers all season. Brown had 45 tackles and two forced fumbles in 11 starts for the Boilers last season. Expect more of the same this season.
