In his senior season, the Indy native will look to start at slot receiver and break out.
Player: Andrew Sowinski
Position: Wide Receiver
Year: RS Senior
Height: 6’0
Weight: 205 lbs
2024 Outlook: Starting Slot WR / Depth Return Man
Out of Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis, Andrew Sowinski walked on at Purdue in 2020. He did not play his freshman season and took a redshirt. The following year, Andrew played in seven games, mostly on special teams. In 2022, Sowinski played in 12 games, 4 being starts, caught a career high 9 catches for 96 yards and returned both kickoffs and punts. Then, last season, he appeared in 6 games and battled but only amounted 29 yards on the season.
It hasn’t been the easiest or straightforward road for Sowinski, but in 2024, he looks to be healthy, experienced, and the starting slot receiver for Purdue. He can also dip back into the return game if necessary for both punts and kickoffs. Either way, look for Andrew Sowinski to have a bigger role in 2024.
