Plus, what did Caleb Furst unlock?
Purdue basketball is on a bit of a winning streak. They’ve won their last five games, the last four being Big Ten games, but it’s more about the way they’ve won those games that is impressive. Purdue has won their last five games by an average of 22 points. I know I just said this two sentences ago but it bears repeating that four of Purdue’s last five games have been against Big Ten foes including two teams that beat Purdue last year and two of five being on the road. It’s no coincidence that this surge from Purdue has coincided with the re-emergence of Caleb Furst as a real threat. At least, that’s what Ryan thinks, and I tend to agree with him. I let him explain on this episode of the Boiler Alert podcast.
We also talk the AP Top 25 and how absurd it is that Purdue has played or will play nearly 1⁄2 of Top 25 teams as it currently stands. There’s one thing you can say about Matt Painter, he loves to challenge his teams.
Finally, we look ahead to the West Coast swing that Purdue faces and talk a bit about the grueling travel they’ll face over a week and a half span. Give us a listen won’t you?
