
The Boilers improved to 17-5 overall after their victory over the Indiana Hoosiers last week
The Purdue Boilermakers moved themselves firmly into the top ten in the latest AP poll following their thrilling victory over the Indiana Hoosiers. The Boilers went from 10th to 7th thanks to that victory but also from losses by Iowa State (-5), Michigan State (-2), and Marquette (-2). The Boilers continue to build a strong resume for the NCAA Tourney and now find themselves as one of the strongest two seeds in many bracket predictions with a chance at a number one seed.

At the top of the poll, Auburn and Duke remained first and second following dominating victories along with Alabama and Tennessee rounding out the top four at third and fourth, respectively. The Houston Cougars (+1) and Florida Gators (-1) both lost but Houston enjoyed a move up of one spot due to their 82-81 loss to Texas Tech while Florida was blown out 64-44 to Tennessee and find themselves fifth and sixth.
The B1G has six total teams ranked in the top 25 this week with Michigan State (9th), Maryland (18th), Wisconsin (21st), Illinois (23rd), and Michigan (24th). Oregon and UCLA find themselves outside of the top 25 at 29th and 30th this week. The SEC holds nine total teams ranked this week with Auburn (1), Alabama (3), Tennessee (4), Florida (6), Texas A&M (10), Kentucky (14), Missouri (15), Mississippi State (22), and Ole Miss (25).
Purdue continues to have one of the nation’s toughest schedules as the Boilers having to play or will play ten ranked opponents that include Auburn (1), Alabama (3), Michigan State (9), Texas A&M (10), Marquette (11), Maryland (18), Wisconsin (21), Illinois (23), Michigan x2 (24), and Ole Miss (25). According to Kenpom, Purdue holds the third ranked schedule in the country behind only Auburn and Alabama along with Texas A&M behind them at fourth.

Purdue will face the Iowa Hawkeyes in Iowa on Tuesday, February 4th and return back to Mackey Arena on Friday, February 7th against USC.
