The list for the Cousy Award is down to 5 and, once again, Braden Smith makes the list.
Braden Smith Named to Final 5 of Cousy Award Finalists
The Bob Cousy Award, given to college men’s basketball top point guard, has its list of 5 finalists and for the second consecutive year, Purdue’s Braden Smith is among the final 5. As reported on X by University of Hoophall (@hoophallu), Braden Smith is joined by Alabama grad-student Mark Sears, Florida senior Walter Clayton Jr, Marquette senior Kam Jones, and Tennessee senior Zakai Zeigler.
You may remember last season when Braden Smith notably did not make the final 15 for the Cousy Award before being added in as part of the final 5. This year, Braden was named to both iterations of the finalists. Also in last season’s final 5 was Mark Sears but it was UConn’s Tristen Newton that took home the award.
