It wasn’t pretty at times, but a 17 point win is a 17 point win.

The number of total minutes played by true freshmen yesterday for Matt Painter. Daniel Jacobsen led the way with 24:51, Gicarri Harris was second with 23:12, C.J. Cox was third with 10:37 and Burgess had five solid minutes.
Jacobsen moves so well for a freshman center who stands 7-4. He will break records with the number of blocks he has during his time at Purdue. Harris defended the point guard position when he was in with Smith, allowing Braden to take a breather on defense. Like Lance Jones did last season, Cox handled the ball well as the point guard off the bench, and Burgess provided some versatility to the 4/5 positions.

The total amount of points, rebounds, and assists Braden Smith had last night. The Junior Point God ended the night with 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 15 assists. It seemed like he did not look to score much until late in the second half when the game got tight.
Smith played 35 minutes, something that he will have to do all season as he becomes the focal point for the Purdue offense.

The highest +/- on the team. Who was the player? Trey Kaufman-Renn. TKR was one rebound away from his first career double-double as well. He ended the night with 15 points 9 rebounds and 3 assists. He and Smith combined for 10 turnovers though, something that, as the primary cogs of the offense, will have to be cleaned up, or could become costly down the road.

1-0 on the season!
