Dan Le Batard is not a fan of Purdue men’s basketball star Zach Edey.
Le Batard doesn’t like the way Edey plays and even called him a “plague” on Monday.
“Zach Edey is a plague, I’m sorry. Purdue, you’re a plague,” he said, (first transcribed by Awful Announcing).
He also confirmed that Le Batard has “made his life worse” this season.
“Look, Edey, you made my life worse. You and Wisconsin made my life worse. All of you, just getting in the way of everybody. Just playing basketball by getting in the way.”
Edey has been one of the best players in the country but his play obviously rubs people the wrong way. Despite that, he averaged 24.4 points and 11.7 rebounds per game during the regular season and helped Purdue earn a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.
He’ll look to help Purdue avenge its first-round exit from last year when Fairleigh Dickinson became the second No. 16 seed to ever knock off a No. 1 seed.
Purdue will start its 2024 NCAA Tournament on Friday against the winner of Montana State and Grambling.
