Fans are jumping all over Warriors star Draymond Green for his recent comments on Zach Edey during the national championship game.
Taking to Twitter that night, the outspoken four-time champ congratulated UConn’s Samson Johnson on making Edey “quit” coming out of halftime.
“Job Well Done 35! You did your job tonight,” Green said. “It was him that made Edey quit with about 19 mins to go in the 2nd half. There was a turnover and I saw Edey body language walking back. He was done. Now rewatch the game from that point on. #FreeGame.”
His mentions quickly flooded with disagreements:
“This is a ludicrous take,” FOX’s Nick Wright replied. “UCONN was better in every facet, and an obviously deserving champion, and despite the the 37 & 10, Edey didn’t play his absolute best game… BUT saying he quit is absurd. Dude is 7’4″ and played his [expletive] off every single minute & never sat.”
“2024 we still pretending one player can beat the best team,” a user commented.
“The audacity for you to say someone quit,” a fan tweeted back.
“This guy lives in a world where basketball games are won by dropping your opponent’s health bar to zero. Zach Edey had 37 [expletive] points lmao.”
Draymond has never been one to hesitate to let you know how he feels. Do you agree with his take?
