Hammer and Rails Fans React Results – Notre Dame Week

We have a confidence check in, plus some bonus!

Purdue fans had the week to answer our two survey questions about this weekend’s Notre Dame game. Now, results in are. First, I asked you all if Purdue would walk away with a victory over the Fighting Irish.

Somehow a majority of Purdue fans who answered this survey said that Purdue would pull off the upset. I understand this feeling because on the last episode of the podcast I nearly talked myself into Purdue pulling off the upset. I think if we had seen one more game from Purdue I would’ve had enough to pull the trigger on the upset. For now though, I hope that 53% of you are right.

Next, I asked which unit on the defense has the most to prove.

Less surprising than question one, was the fact that defensive line finished first here. This is what I expected with linebacker being second. Plenty of work to do on defense and given Notre Dame’s inability to throw the ball this will give these two units a huge opportunity on Saturday.

Finally, even though you didn’t vote on this question, the Notre Dame site had questioned answered as well. Here are results I thought you might be interested in.

Only 25% of Notre Dame fans expressed high confidence going into the game against Purdue. That was pretty surprising to me. I’m not sure how you characterize so-so but that’s not what you want to hear if you’re Notre Dame. Things are bleak over there.

We will know who was right about all of this in a little over 24 hours.
