Plus, will Braden Smith become a two time All-American?
This week in the survey I’ve got two Purdue related questions, plus one national result about NIL that I think might spark some conversation. We will get to that one first.
NIL is obviously a huge factor now in NCAA sports. I’m a firm believer that the players deserve a cut of the profits from this billion dollar industry that wouldn’t exist without them. How much do they deserve? I honestly don’t know. There’s a lot I don’t like about NIL and how it’s been implemented but this whole thing is just in its infancy and I think changes and some sort of regulation will be coming down the pike. So, how do fans in general feel about NIL?

Overall it doesn’t seem to be very popular with 53% saying it is ruining the sport. There’s a lot to work on with NIL and I think this shows that fans are frustrated with it.
Up next, we will stick with football. This week I asked you which position on the Purdue football team was the most problematic. Which unit is keeping you up at night?

Two positions lead the pack here going away. The QB position leads with 40% but offensive line is second with 36%. It seems pretty clear that Purdue is going to have some problems on the offensive side of the ball. It looks like former Boilermaker Ryan Browne might be on his way back to the Boilermakers. Is he the answer? Only time will tell.
Finally, I asked if Braden Smith, who officially announced his return, would earn a back-to-back All-American awards after next season. Some in the comments asked why I even asked this question because it was so obvious, but it seemed relevant to me because it’s not as if being an All-American is easy. Doing it in back-to-back seasons is even tougher. Let’s not pretend it’s just a sure thing that he’ll be an All-American just for showing up. It’s a lot of work and Smith will have to earn it on the court just like everyone else. But, what do the fans think?

98% think he does, so maybe I’m just an idiot? It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve asked an obvious question.
So what do you think, did the majority get it right?
