Hammer and Rails Readers Survey Results – Upset Brewing?

Plus, Ryan Walters earned more time.

The survey results are in right under the wire for this week’s game against the Oregon Ducks. There were two questions this week as we try and do each week. The first one asked if the game against Illinois bought head coach Ryan Walters more time to turn this program around.

An amazing 60% of Purdue fans thought that the results of the Illinois game were enough to earn Ryan Walters more time. Honestly, given the reaction I saw on Twitter, Facebook, and even our comment section here this doesn’t surprise me. Purdue fans were, and still are, desperate for good news and this Illinois game was actually fun to watch. That’s enough good news for Walters to earn some goodwill.

Next, will Purdue pull off the upset in about an hour?

This one was surprising to me. This 12% is more than thought Purdue would upset Nebraska and Illinois. Those were both in single digits. Somehow, more Purdue fans think an upset is possible tonight versus the last two weeks. Sort of incredible to me.
