The season unofficially starts tomorrow!
It’s the end of the week which means that survey results are back! This week was all about basketball as I wanted to know what your expectations were for Purdue’s Big Ten finish as well as the expectations for the incoming freshman class. Much is expected of this group so I wanted to see your thoughts.
First though, I wanted to know where you all think Purdue will finish in this first year of the expanded Big Ten. The media picked Purdue to win their third in a row and Three-Pete, but did you all agree? Let’s go to the results!
I placed top four separate from first place just because I know that’s often a goal for not just Painter and the team but also for the fans. There’s a sort of pride in knowing that we’ve finished in the top 4. 54% say their expectation is for Purdue to finish in the top 4 while 28% of voters felt that a reasonable expectation was for Purdue to win the conference for the third straight season.
Next, let’s talk newcomers.
A pretty obvious frontrunner here as Gicarri Harris runs away with the vote with 60%. The next seven-footer in the long line of Purdue giants, Daniel Jacobsen, comes in second with 17%. There’s a clear frontrunner in this one and it makes sense as Harris is highly regarded and of course a Purdue legacy.
