The Boilermakers are looking to get back in the win column.
Losing to Ohio State, at home, was a blow to a lot of folks. But, Purdue still sits at 7-2 in conference play and has two home games in a row before getting a bit of a rest. Tonight, Purdue faces off against the 21st ranked Michigan Wolverines in a game with Big Ten title implications written all over it. The Wolverines come in having lost just one Big Ten game so far but also having played two fewer Big Ten games than Purdue. It’s a strange discrepancy in the scheduling. Taking a second straight loss, at home to a very good Michigan team, could spell deep trouble for Purdue’s title hopes given they’ve still got to go on the road to Michigan State, Michigan, IU, and end the season at Illinois. Those are all going to be tough road games so protecting home court will be key going forward.
