Is this a must win for Purdue’s Big Ten title hopes?
Fresh off becoming the winningest coach in Big Ten men’s basketball history, Tom Izzo and his Michigan State Spartans will host the Purdue Boilermakers who are coming off of a two game skid against two of the top teams in the conference. Well, the road ahead for the Boilermakers doesn’t get any easier as they have to hit the road to East Lansing and the Breslin Center to face a team above them in the standings.
Purdue is sitting at four conference losses while league leader Michigan has just two. Purdue will need to hold serve the rest of the conference season and hope that Michigan loses two games in order to earn a share of that coveted Big Ten title and earn that elusive Three-Pete. It’s not going to be easy, but the biggest journey starts with the smallest steps. Tomorrow, those steps go straight through East Lansing.
