The men’s basketball heavyweights face off tonight.
Purdue men’s basketball face their toughest test of the early season tonight when Alabama comes into town. This is a team ranked #2 in the country with a guard in Mark Sears who is one of the best players in the country. He was a guy who gave Purdue a ton of problems when these two teams faced off last year in Toronto, a game in which Purdue won it should be noted. Alabama is an offensive team who will chuck up 25+ threes per game. Can Purdue slow them down? Right now they aren’t hitting them at the clip they would hope, but it’s important to note it’s only been three games.
Purdue meanwhile is a completely different team than last year. Losing Zach Edey of course is the main reason, but don’t discount the losses of Mason Gillis and Lance Jones. Purdue could use some rebounding and some ball handling. Gillis and Jones respectively provided that for Purdue last year.
