Averaging 24.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, TKR helped the Boilers to two victories last week
For the third time this season, Trey Kaufman-Renn has been named the B1G Player of the week. He becomes the first player this season to be selected the player of the week three times breaking a tie with Bryce Williams (Nebraska) and Jon Tonje (Wisconsin).

Kaufman-Renn started last week with an impressive 25 point, 7 rebound, and 4 assist showing on the road against the Iowa Hawkeyes and followed it up with a double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds in a victory against USC. An impressive week but the junior forward has averaged 22.7 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists while shooting 58.2% in Purdue’s last 6 games. The Boilers are 5-1 through that span.
The announcement comes after TKR found himself left off both of the top 10 lists for the Malone (power forward) and Kareem (center) Awards. Head Coach Matt Painter was very vocal about that glaring oversight following Purdue’s convincing 90-62 victory over USC.
Kaufman-Renn is the nation’s only player averaging at least 18 points, six rebounds, and two assists per game while shooting 60% from the field. He joins Zach Edey, Evan Eschmeyer, and Chris Webber as the only Big Ten players to accomplish this feat.
