The Oklahoma Sooners may have lost Dillon Gabriel to the transfer portal but they bounced back in a big way on Tuesday.
According to On3.com, former Purdue wide receiver Deion Burks has committed to OU after a 47-catch, 629-yard, seven-touchdown season with the Boilermakers this season.
With two years of eligibility remaining, Burks was asked what drew him to Norman.

“The culture and the coaches!” the 5’10” receiver exclaimed. “They explained a lot to me that had to do with stuff outside of football, that’ll set you up for success. Overall I just liked the environment they’re building and where they’re going as a program.”
The Sooners are in a period of transition after seeing their star quarterback leave for Oregon. But coach Brent Venables has found a way to bring in plenty of talent to Oklahoma since struggling his first year.
Gabriel should be a nice addition to a strong group of skill players at OU. We’ll see what else the program has up its sleeves before the 2024 season gets started.
