Things don’t look great for the Boilermakers.
Things look a bit bleak for the Boilermakers heading into Columbus. Is anyone brave enough to pick the Boilermakers? I doubt it, but we will have to see.
Ledman (7-1):
I said on the podcast that as far as talent level goes this is most close to the game against Oregon. You might recall that Purdue could not muster a single point against the Ducks. And that game was at home. This one is on the road in Columbus, in the Horseshoe, with 100K excited Ohio State fans looking to keep their run to the CFP intact. They can’t have a slip against a team like Purdue.
There’s no doubt that Purdue is the heavy underdog here as evidenced by the 30+ point spread. This feels like a game where OSU can name their score.

Jed (8-0):
I have very little faith that this game isn’t ‘over’ by the end of the first quarter. I think it is more likely Purdue is down 21-0 than most any other possibility. Purdue has talent but that talent is constantly either injured, not prepared well enough, or the scheme just doesn’t suit what the players can do. That has led to some embarrassing losses this season against Notre Dame (66-7), Wisconsin (52-6), Oregon (35-0), and Northwestern (26-20, OT). Yes, the Oregon game was embarrassing because that was about as relaxed of a game as an opponent could play while still winning 35-0 (they had players playing rock, paper, scissors during the game with fans behind them).
Ohio State has this game and Northwestern before what arguably might be the biggest game of the B1G season against Indiana at home. Coming off the big victory against Penn State on the road, it would be a classic scenario for a trap game if Purdue wasn’t comically bad this season. How bad have they been? The only season we can compare it to is 2013 where Ohio State dog walked the Boilers 56-0 at home.
Ohio State: 56
Purdue: 7
Ryan (7-1):
I won’t sugarcoat it; this game is not going to be close. We should probably be happy if Purdue scores multiple times in this one, even if in garbage time.

Drew:
I’m sort of at a loss in this one. Not over the outcome, but how it happens.
My hope is for something like the Oregon game. Oregon was never in trouble but the game was somewhat interesting into the second half (with at least a touchdown for the Boilermakers this time).
My fear is the Notre Dame game where the blow Purdue out before halftime and things get super ugly.
I’m leaning towards the optimistic side of things because I will never learn my lesson.
Purdue: 10
Ohio State: 34
The game is within 2 scores going into the 4th quarter.
Kyle:
Here we are again.
Another week of football, whether we love it or not. I miss the days thinking that Purdue could upset a top ranked team, as I have just no hope.
OSU has 2 NFL Wrs, 2 NFL RBs, multiple NFL defensive players.
Does Purdue have any? Thieneman?
It will be quick and painless.
