Purdue lost two commits just days after Walters relieved Harrell of his duties.
Just days after Graham Harrell was relieved of his duties, Purdue saw two of their top targets de-commit. The old adage is that players commit to head coaches and not assistants, but in this instance, it appears that these two were mostly committed to Coach Harrell.
4-Star 2026 Quarterback, Oscar Rios was the last one to de-commit. Rios was a long-standing 2026 commit and had offers from just about everyone around the country. Now, the California Native will re-open his recruiting process, where I am sure schools from coast to coast will jump right back in.
Rios is a major loss, but with the 2026 class 2 years away from stepping on campus, there is plenty of time to find the quarterback for that class.

2025 Wide Receiver, LeBron Hill was the first to de-commit after Harrell was fired. It is not a total shock, as Hill also was a Louisville commit at one point.
The 3-star in-state prospect is a loss, but wide receivers are a dime a dozen it seems these days with how much high schools and colleges want to throw the ball.
I wouldn’t expect many offensive commits until Purdue has a permanent Offensive Coordinator in place, as there could be more movement on the offensive side of the ball in terms of coaching when that happens at season’s end, too.
