After losing three, Purdue gains one.
The transfer portal giveth and the transfer portal taketh away. That’s just the nature of college basketball these days. You see beloved players walk out the door before seeing new names come in that same door.
After losing three players to the transfer portal already this year Purdue was due for someone to walk in the door. Especially since Matt Painter had said during the NCAA Tournament that he was going to use the portal to add a few names.
Well tonight, Purdue just landed a big one, in more ways than one.
I am extremely excited for the next step in my journey…I can’t wait to be a BOILERMAKER! #boilerup pic.twitter.com/xhvidd1egC

The (approximately) 7 foot tall Australian committed to Matt Painter and the Boilermakers tonight after spending last season at South Dakota State.
NEWS: South Dakota State transfer Oscar Cluff has committed to Purdue, he told @LeagueRDY.
Cluff is a 6-11 big who played one season at Washington State before spending this past season at South Dakota State. Named First Team All-Summit League this season.

He was one of the top rebounders in the country and excelled as both an offensive and defensive rebounder which was something this Purdue team struggled with at times. We saw how Houston was able to get numerous second chances against the Boilermakers in the Sweet 16. Well, with Matt Painter adding Cluff the hope is that the rebounding numbers will increase for Purdue.
Now there are plenty of questions about what this means for Trey Kaufman-Renn’s position, what about Daniel Jacobsen, and don’t forget Raleigh Burgess. Can all of these players co-exist and even excel as Purdue will look to make the Final Four in Indianapolis next season. Stay tuned to Hammer and Rails for all the coverage of the men’s basketball offseason.
