This is his second time winning the conference award.
The Big Ten conference announced their players of the week this afternoon and Purdue once again found themselves with a winner. This time it was none other than Trey Kaufman-Renn who earlier in the day was announced as the Naismith Player of the Week. So it makes sense that he would win the conference’s player of the week award as well.
Another one.

The Indiana native wins his second award of the season, and second of his career, after leading the Boilermakers to a 2-0 West Coast trip including a victory over then 13th ranked Oregon. The Big Ten release sums up his week:
Averaged 21.0 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, leading No. 11 Purdue to a pair of road victories
Paired 23 points, including 9-for-9 from the free throw line, and 11 rebounds in a 65-58 win at then-No 13 Oregon
Scored 19 points, including six in the second half, in a come-from-behind 69-58 win over Washington
Claims second Player of the Week honor this season
Last Purdue Player of the Week: Braden Smith (January 6, 2025)
The most important stat of all of these is the 9-9 from the free throw line against Oregon. It was the one flaw that had been exposed throughout the season and I think most Purdue fans thought there was a chance that this would come around to bite them during at least one game this year. If TKR can improve that free throw shooting…oh boy watch out.
