This is his first time winning the award.
The Big Ten Conference announced today that Purdue junior Trey Kaufman-Renn was the conference player of the week. This is the first time TKR has won the award. Given his play this season it might seem hard to believe, but then you remember that he was playing behind Big Ten Player of the Week perennial winner Zach Edey and it makes a bit more sense.

TKR has made the proverbial next step this season and is playing his best ball of his career. TKR earned the Rady Children’s Invitational MVP to go along with this weekly honor. You can see the numbers above that earned TKR this award:
PPG: 23.5
RPG: 10.5
APG: 2.5
FGs: 16-26
He’s been a consistent presence in the starting lineup and has been part of Purdue’s Big Three this season. TKR has been an integral part of Purdue’s fast start this season and if they end up with the ever elusive Three-Pete, he will be a huge piece.
Purdue and TKR are next in action on the road against Penn State Thursday at 6:30 PM as they start Big Ten season.
