In the coming weeks, we will be taking a closer look at each of the Indianapolis Colts’ unrestricted free agents and making a prediction as to whether or not they will return for the 2025 season.
Up next, let’s take a look at wide receiver Juwann Winfree. If you’ve missed any of our other free agency predictions, you can find them below.

Juwann Winfree would miss the entire 2024 season on injured reserve. He was placed on IR during roster cutdowns and was not designated to return, which effectively ended his season.
Winfree joined the Colts in 2023. On offense that season, he appeared in three games and had one target with no receptions. On special teams, he played 75 snaps across three different units.
For his career, which began in 2019 with Denver as a sixth-round pick, Winfree has nine receptions on 18 targets for 75 yards.
With the Colts having a well-established wide receiver room that includes Michael Pittman, Alec Pierce, Josh Downs, and AD Mitchell–I also think Ashton Dulin returns–that gives them the opportunity to go younger and take some swings on higher upside potential on the back end of the depth chart.
This is a fairly common roster building approach around the NFL, especailly with a receiver room positioned well like the Colts have.
So for that primary reason, I don’t think the almost 29-year-old Winfree will be back.
Prediction: Juwann Winfree signs elsewhere.
