Colts hosted annual Local Pro Day on Tuesday

The Colts brought in a number of local products to scout and support their professional football dreams on Tuesday.

The Indianapolis Colts hosted their annual local Pro Day on Tuesday at the team’s W. 56th street headquarters, as 55 NFL hopefuls were on-hand to participate—as well as members of the Horseshoe’s football operations and coaching staff for scouting purposes:

For many of these participants, this is an opportunity to gain up close visibility in front off NFL personnel, as the majority of them are more undrafted free agent hopefuls.

We’ve seen in the past, prospects such as local product, cornerback JuJu Brents, participate in the Colts local Pro Day (albeit on a limited basis), only to get selected by Indianapolis thereafter.

Former Butler undrafted wideout Tyler Adams participated in the Colts’ local Pro Day in 2023 and ended up being signed to the team’s active roster, after an ensuing try out at rookie minicamp.

There’s been other non-Colts who have participated as well, albeit on also a limited basis, such as the New York Giants Tyrone Tracy Jr. and San Francisco 49ers Isaac Guerendo at running back respectively last year—both of whom had big impacts as rookies.

An NFL opportunity is better than no opportunity, and this at least provides these potential NFL hopefuls a chance to showcase their talents and abilities in front of Colts personnel—which for those realistically not on draft radars, could lead to a rookie minicamp invite, and maybe even ultimately an NFL roster or practice squad going forward, should they impress.

Plus, you never know when future injuries may arise!

It also better ensures that the Colts leave no stone unturned as it relates to adding or potentially missing out on local talent from their own backyard!
