There aren’t any real surprises, but the most noteworthy absence is second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson. Richardson is still dealing with the back spasms injury that caused him to miss the team’s prior game against the New York Giants.
Veteran Joe Flacco, who is coming off a 330-yard and and two touchdown performance against the Gants, is again expected to start in Richardson’s place. Flacco has thrown for 11 touchdowns and 7 interceptions during the times he’s played for the Colts this season.
In total, Richardson has now missed three games due to injuries this season. He’s missed five total, with the other two coming from his benching. Richardson’s ability to stay healthy continues to be a big question mark going forward for Indianapolis’ franchise.
Outside of the team’s draft slot, for some, the result of Sunday’s contest doesn’t necessarily matter. What really matters is what could follow depending on the result of the game. Will the Colts make changes another disappointing finish this season?
As we enter the final week of the regular season, that’s the question on everyone’s minds. This season hasn’t gone as planned for Indianapolis, and it could possibly lead to some changes within the organization.
