The Colts did not have a practice on Wednesday due to the Christmas holiday, so the normal Wednesday practice report from the Colts came with the stipulation of being only an estimation of a player’s participation if there was a practice.
Even without an official Wednesday practice taking place, Thursday brought an important update to several Colts players’ statuses.

Most notably, Colts starting QB Anthony Richardson appeared on the injury report with new back and foot injuries. Richardson just completed his longest stretch of his career healthy from Weeks 11-16 (5 games), but the injury bug has bitten once again. The Colts remain optimistic on Richardson’s likelihood on playing on Sunday per ESPN’s Stephen Holder.
Also on Did Not Participate was Tight End Mo Alie Cox (toe) & starting WILL Linebacker EJ Speed (knee). Backup Linebacker Jaylon Carlies made progress to go to Limited Participant, but starting Guard Quenton Nelson was downgraded to limited.
Full participants were Wide Receivers Michael Pittman Jr (back) and Alec Pierce (concussion) and 2023 draft pick Cornerbacks JuJu Brents (knee) and Jaylon Jones (throat). Brents would be making his on the field return to the Colts for the first time since Week 1. Pierce would return after missing Week 16 vs the Titans due to concussion protocol.
