INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts have begun getting their 2025 roster in order.
It started in earnest Thursday with the release of Raekwon Davis. The veteran defensive tackle was one of two free-agent acquisitions last year – quarterback Joe Flacco was the other – and he didn’t see the final year of a two-year, $14 million contract that included $7 million in guarantees.
By releasing Davis, the Colts freed up roughly $6.5 million against the salary cap. He’ll count $2.5 million in dead money.
General manager Chris Ballard signed Davis last offseason as depth behind tackles Grover Stewart and DeForest Buckner, but his impact was minimal after missing the majority of training camp with high blood pressure.
Davis appeared in 17 games, all off the bench, and finished with 15 tackles.
