Amid news that Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay was recently hospitalized for a suspected drug overdose, the team has released a statement.
In the statement, the team announced that Irsay is continuing to recover from a respiratory illness and will not comment any further on his health. The team called upon fans to respect his privacy.
“Mr. Irsay continues to recover from his respiratory illness. We will have no further comment on his personal health, and we continue to ask that Jim and his family’s privacy be respected.”
Fans on social media don’t seem too inclined to respect his wishes though. Many believe that someone who owns a stadium that was partially paid for by the taxpayers should be more accountable to them:

“This is a cover up at the expense of tax payers. It’s time to hold this franchise accountable,” one user replied to Stephen Holder.
“I feel bad for the guy but there is no privacy ur a public figure who takes tax dollars I/we invest in Jim Irsay and the colts we have the right to know if those tax dollars he takes go on drugs sorry but that’s the truth and I’m a die hard colts fan,” wrote another.
“Screw his privacy. As long as Hoosiers are paying for his stadium he should be accountable to them!” a third user wrote.
We wish Irsay the best as he continues to recover.
