Colts 2nd-year cornerback JuJu Brents suffers another injury for Indianapolis and appears unlikely to return.
Indianapolis Colts 2nd-year cornerback JuJu Brents, who was activated off injured reserve this weekend ahead of today’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, has been designated as ‘questionable’ to return following a groin injury:

Prior to his latest injury, Brents had been serving as the Colts’ third cornerback against the Jaguars before being seen on the sideline with members of the Indy medical staff.
After being designated to return to practice a few weeks ago, Brents had made his first appearance since suffering a significant knee injury during the Colts regular season opener at home against the Houston Texans.
The former 2023 2nd round pick of the Colts appeared in two games for Indianapolis this season, recording 7 tackles (3 solo). He’s been limited to 10 career games in his first two seasons for Indianapolis.
Via The Athletic’s James Boyd, when asked about being labeled as ‘injury prone,’ Brents responded a few weeks ago:
“It is what it is,” Brents said via Boyd. “I understand it. I mean, I haven’t been available for the team. But I just know for me, I’m doing everything in my ability to be able to be out there . . . .”
Obviously, it raises a fair question of whether the Brents and Colts may have unnecessarily rushed it to have him return for the regular season finale—when each side would’ve been better off agreeing to shut him down for the remainder of the 2024 season and looking ahead to next year.
