The Indianapolis Colts hope to keep their AFC South title hopes strong against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday. But they’ll be a little shorthanded for the effort.
On Saturday, the Colts announced that leading wide receiver Michael Pittman has been ruled out for Sunday’s game. Pittman has been dealing with a concussion and a shoulder injury but was a full participant in practice on Friday.
Unfortunately, something apparently happened to move Pittman from cleared to not playing at all. Now the Colts will be without their star wide receiver.
Pittman is having a career year with 99 receptions for 1,062 yards and four touchdowns – all of which lead the team. He’s had at least 60 receiving yards in each of the last six games and has gone over 100 yards three times this season including twice in the last four games.

The Colts were not expected to be particularly good this season, let alone 8-6 and leading the AFC South with just three games to go. And when quarterback Anthony Richardson suffered his season-ending injury, most of us assumed the team would fade into obscurity.
But the Colts have defied the odds thanks in large part to a huge year from quarterback Gardner Minshew II and the continued development of Pittman and their defense.
Will the Colts win tomorrow’s game without Pittman?
