From one season to the next, roster turnover is just part of the NFL, although for the Indianapolis Colts under GM Chris Ballard, there is often less of that than there is for most teams.
As I highlighted in a recent article, one big change to how Ballard and the Colts go about this offseason compared to last is that there needs to be an in-flux of competition added to this roster. While internally, the Colts are always bullish on their own players, the on-field results for several seasons show that this roster isn’t good enough.
Now, will that happen? That remains to be seen and the Colts have quite a few of their own free agents to make decisions on before deciding whether or not to make outside additions once free agency begins.
So before the Colts round out their roster in the coming months through free agency and the draft, let’s take a look at the current roster situation with the players who are still under contract for the 2025 season. according to Over the Cap. This will also showcase where the biggest positional needs are for the Colts as well.
