Two Indianapolis Colts legends are one step closer to attaining football immortality this summer in Canton, Ohio.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced its fifteen mondern-era finalists for the Class of 2025, and two former Indianapolis Colts greats, placekicker Adam Vinatieri and wide receiver Reggie Wayne, were among those selected:

This year’s class at least at first glance, doesn’t otherwise have any clear ‘first-ballot’ guys, although one could make a strong case for Vinatieri—who’s arguably the greatest player to play his position ever and could join both Morten Andersen and Jan Stenerud as the only kickers currently in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
The longtime placekicker for both the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots is the NFL’s all-time leading scorer with 2,673 total career points—having made 599 of 715 field goal attempts (83.8%) and 874 of 898 extra points (97.3%) during his 24 seasons (365 games).
For both Indianapolis and New England, Vinatieri was a 4x Super Bowl Champion (including game-winning kicks for the Patriots), a 3x First-Team NFL All-Pro, 3x NFL Pro Bowler, member of the NFL’s 2000s All-Decade Team, and NFL’s 100th Anniversary All-Time Team.
Regarding Wayne, he’s been a finalist in each of his six seasons on the ballot, and given a ‘down year’ among the competition, and this very well may be the year he finally gets in.
Wayne ranks all-time career-wise: 10th in receiving yards (14,345), 10th in receptions (1,070), 30th in touchdown receptions (82); as well as receiving all-time in the postseason: 7th in playoff receiving yards (1,254), 6th in playoff receptions (93), and 10th (*tied) in playoff touchdown receptions (9).
During his 14 NFL seasons—all with the Colts, he became a Super Bowl XLI Champion, 6x Pro Bowler, First-Team NFL All-Pro, 2x 2nd-Team NFL All-Pro, NFL receiving yards leader, and Colts Ring of Honor member.
The Class of 2025 will be unveiled publicly on ‘NFL Honors Night’ on February 6th, 2025.
