The Colts former head coach and quarterback pairing, who had solid success together, rejoin ranks at Stanford University.
Stanford University announced on Monday that former Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich will be the football program’s interim head coach for just the upcoming 2025 season:

Of course, it’s notable because retired Colts franchise quarterback Andrew Luck now serves as the Stanford football program’s general manager—having recently assumed the role in 2024.
In their lone season together in Indianapolis, Luck completed 430 of 639 passing attempts (67.3%) for 4,593 total passing yards, 39 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions during all 16 starts in 2018—earning NFL Comeback Player of the Year and Pro Bowl honors.
The pairing of Reich and Luck went 10-6, and the Colts earned an AFC wild card berth.
Obviously, it shows that Luck held Reich in high regard then and continues to do so, as his Stanford football program, who have had four straight seasons of finishing 3-9, seeks out a veteran coaching stopgap to provide needed stability before hopefully finding a long-term solution along their sidelines thereafter.
Reich last coached for the Carolina Panthers in 2023, going 1-10, before being fired in-season. He previously served as the head coach for the Colts from 2018-22, among his other professional coaching roles. He doesn’t have prior collegiate coaching experience.
