Tolzien has been the Dallas Cowboys quarterback coach for the last two seasons, working Dak Prescott on Mike McCarthy’s coaching staff.
Before that promotion, Tolzien worked with Moore in Dallas as a coaching assistant while Moore was the team’s offensive coordinator at that time.
On the Saints roster at quarterback currently are Derek Carr, Jake Haener, and Spencer Rattler–although the team move on from Carr this offseason.
Tolzien appeared in four games, which included two starts, with the Colts during the 2016 and 2017 NFL seasons. In those games he would complete 58% of his passes for 344 yards with one touchdown and four interceptions.
In addition to playing with the Colts, Tolzien also spent time with the Green Bay Packers, San Francisco 49ers, and the now Los Angeles Chargers.
Tolzien went undrafted in 2011 out of the University of Wisconsin.
