In 2014, Colts owner Jim Irsay was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. During an interview with HBO Sports, he opened up about his arrest.
Irsay told Andrea Kremer that he was arrested because of his status.
“I am prejudiced against because I’m a rich, white billionaire,” Irsay said. “If I’m just the average guy down the block, they’re not pulling me in, of course not.”
Irsay was then asked how the public would react to this statement. He made it clear that he doesn’t care.
“I don’t care what it sounds like,” Irsay replied. “It’s the truth. … I could give a damn what people think how anything sounds or sounds like. The truth is the truth, and I know the truth.”

Irsay claims he pleaded guilty to get the process “over with.” He also said he failed the sobriety tests because he was just coming off hip surgery.
“I had just had hip surgery, and had been in the car for 45 minutes. And what – they asked me to walk the line? Are you kidding me? I can barely walk at all.”
Irsay, 64, has been very open about his battle with addiction over the years.
