INDIANAPOLIS – One offensive lineman’s out but another might be back in.
As the Indianapolis Colts ramp up preparations for Sunday’s meeting with the Buffalo Bills, they’ll do so without center Ryan Kelly but are closer to getting left tackle Bernhard Raimann back.
Kelly, a four-time Pro Bowl selection, was placed on the injured reserve list Tuesday with a lingering knee injury. The team expects him to return after missing the required four games.
Rookie Tanor Borolini will replace Kelly. That was the case for two games earlier this season when Kelly was out with a neck injury.
Raimann, meanwhile, has cleared the necessary step in the NFL’s concussion protocol to practice. There still are phases he must take to be cleared for Sunday.
He missed last Sunday’s loss at Minnesota.
“He’s been solid,’’ coach Shane Steichen said of Raimann Wednesday. “I think he’s done a helluva job.’’
