Caitlin Clark has brought a level of buzz to the city of Indianapolis that it hasn’t seen since Andrew Luck or Peyton Manning were in their prime with the Colts. Speaking of which, the latter quarterback is certainly excited for what Clark brings not just to the city, but the entire WNBA.
In a recent interview, Manning spoke glowingly of what a joy it was to learn to get to know Clark both from when she was drafted and going back to when she was a guest on his show last season. He said that he even gave her some contact info for the city of Indianapolis.
“It’s awesome and, like I said, I really enjoyed getting to know Caitlin even more. Throughout this series she was a guest on our show, the Monday night show, last year. She’s a Chiefs fan – I forgive her for that – but she said she did grow up kind of watching me play and she’s going to love Indianapolis. I gave her all of my contacts at the airport, at St. Elmo’s… and it’s a great place for her to play, I’m looking forward to watching her,” Manning said.
It’s been 12 years since the Indiana Fever won their first and only WNBA title. Meanwhile, the Colts haven’t quite been the same since Manning left the city.
Citizens in Indianapolis are certainly hoping that Caitlin Clark can deliver another title to them – and maybe a whole bunch of the to boot.
