This handful of Hoosier-grown NFL prospects will look to raise their stocks with a strong week back home in Indianapolis.
Indianapolis, IN — As is tradition, for now at least, the NFL Scouting Combine will take place this week at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts.
Over 300 NFL Draft prospects look to make their marks with a strong week in Indianapolis. From medical checks and interviews to the on-the-field workout portions, this week is especially pertinent for those off the radar who need strong showings to raise their stock ahead of Pro Days later in the process.
Of those 300+ participants set to attend the event, five are homegrown prospects who concluded their high school careers in the Hoosier state. Starting with those highest on draft boards, here’s a closer look at the five Indiana HS prospects in question.

Grant (6’3”, 340 lbs) is a massive interior defensive line prospect from Merrillville, Indiana. The former 3-star recruit burst onto the scene early into his career at Michigan and has thrived despite playing alongside potential Top-5 iDL prospect Mason Graham.
The true junior declared early and is viewed as a lock for a first-round draft selection.
Darius Alexander, DL, Toledo

A former 3-star recruit from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Alexander has blossomed into a legitimate Day 2 (rounds 2-3) prospect. Standing at 6’3” tall and weighing 304 lbs, Alexander is a force to be reckoned with, especially when you consider his damage as a pass rusher comes from all along the defensive line.
Alexander turned heads at the Senior Bowl, earning himself the title of the top-performing defensive lineman on the National squad, and is looking to prove himself even more at the NFL Combine.
Jack Kiser, LB, Notre Dame

From little ole Royal Center, Indiana, Kiser’s legendary football career within the state started with a Mr. Football-winning showing at Pioneer High School in 2018. A multi-year starter and team captain at Notre Dame, Kiser’s age (24.5) will be one of the main factors holding his draft stock back.
Like Darius Alexander, Kiser showed out during his week at the Senior Bowl and was subsequently named the top linebacker on the American squad.
Jay Higgins, LB, Iowa

A Brebeuf Jesuit product, Higgins has blossomed as a tackling machine throughout his collegiate career at Iowa. He fits the modern-day off-ball linebacker build at 6’2”, 235 lbs, and is currently projected as a Day 3 (rounds 4-7) draft selection.
Higgins was the only linebacker to be graded within Pro Football Focus’s Top 5 of the past two seasons.
Maxen Hook, S, Toledo

Hook is a former 3-star recruit from New Palestine, Indiana. A Senior Bowl participant who is currently slated as a late Day 3/UDFA priority prospect, Hook joins a safety group in Indianapolis that can afford a handful of high risers.
Although his junior season was marred by injury, Hook had a break out of sorts to round out his final years at Toledo as he hauled in five interceptions, defended seven passes, and was the only FBS Safety to log a 90+ tackling grade in each of the past two seasons.
