The Colts are scheduled to formally meet with one of the NCAA’s former leading rushers.
According to The Draft Network’s Ryan Fowler, the Indianapolis Colts are among the NFL teams that are expected to formally meet with Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon II:
The following teams have formal meetings scheduled with Oklahoma State RB Ollie Gordon II, source said:
• Broncos
• Chargers

• Dolphins— Ryan Fowler (@_RyanFowler_) February 26, 2025
The listed 6,1,” 233 pound junior running back for the Cowboys rushed for 880 total rushing yards on 190 carries (4.6 ypc. avg.) and 13 rushing touchdowns this past season, as well as caught 29 receptions for 179 total receiving yards and a touchdown reception in 12 starts.
He’s just a year removed from a monstrous collegiate season for Oklahoma State in which he amassed a whopping 1,732 total rushing yards (which led all of NCAA Division I FBS) and 21 rushing touchdowns—as he earned unanimous All-American, First-Team All-Big 12, Big-12 Offensive Player of the Year, and the Doak Walker Award among other top honors.
Gordon was one of the prospects who stood out at this year’s Senior Bowl.
Here’s his NFLDraft.com profile:
Overview
Big-workload back with a skill set that requires a physical, downhill run scheme. Gordon is tight-hipped and forced to run linear tracks. He plays with adequate decisiveness and interior vision but lacks the agility to cut sharply or slip tackles in tight quarters. When he gets going downhill he becomes a battering ram, slamming through tackles and adding tough yards after contact. He’s good in the screen game and could improve his protection in time. His 2024 production fell off through no fault of his own. Gordon is big and physical and could attract Day 2 attention from teams looking to add a bruiser to a two-back system.
There’s no question that the Colts could withstand to improve their backfield behind star workhorse Jonathan Taylor—as their depth was depleted last season, following the free agency loss of veteran Zack Moss.
Gordon II seems like a big-bodied bruising back who could immediately supplant incumbent Trey Sermon for the ‘between-the-tackles’ work primarily backing up Taylor for 2025 and beyond.
