NFC matchup between two old rivals with plenty of playoff history
We close off Week 16 of NFL football with perhaps the most lopsided matchup I can think of since starting this series, as the Packers (- 1100) visit the Saints (+ 700) down in New Orleans. At 14.5-points, Green Bay opens as a massive favourite. The OU is set at 42.5 for total points for the game.
The Saints barely lost to the Washington Commanders after failing a last second two-point attempt to try and win the game in regular time in what could have win a statement win from rookie quarterback Spencer Rattler. This is a much better team than their 5-9 record says, and with a decent quarterback (Kirk Cousins?) next season I can easily picture them sneaking into the playoffs.
The Packers easily dispatched the Seahawks led by a surgical performance by quarterback Jordan Love and Green Bay’s defense shutting down Geno Smith first, and then Sam Howell. This team is starting to click at the perfect time, and could make some noise in the playoffs.
Overall, the spread seems a bit exaggerated to me as the Saints are not only such a bad team but also playing at home. I still think that the Packers are definitely going to win though.
