NFC matchup to close the Sunday
We close off yet another NFL Sunday with what does not look like a particularly enticing matchup on paper, as the underwhelming Dallas Cowboys (+ 164) host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (- 196). The visitors open as 3.5-point favourites, with the OU for the game currently at 48.5 points.
The Bucs won their last game against the Chargers after a storming second half which included two touchdown grabs by wide receiver Mike Evans. The defensive halftime adjustments worked wonders for the Bucs, who punted twice, had two turnover on downs, and had two turnovers.
The Cowboys made easy work of the Carolina Panthers, led by a surprisingly brilliant Cooper Rush, who threw 3 touchdowns, and close to 150 yards on the ground by Rico Dowdle. At 6-8, the Cowboys are already essentially out of the playoffs, so unlike the Bucs they have nothing to play for.
Overall I think this will not be as close as the oddsmakers believe, and that the Bucs are just too good of a team to struggle against this underwhelming Cowboys’ squad. The OU at 48.5 points also seems a tad too generous in my opinion.
