NFC matchup that does particularly entice neutral fans
After an exciting Christmas’ night slate of matchups, we settle down with an NFC conference matchup with the already eliminated Chicago Bears (+ 165) hosting the near-eliminated Seahawks (- 195) up in Chicago. The visitors open as 3.5-point favourites, with the OU for the game at 43.5.
The Seahawks lost an entertaining game last week to the Vikings, as Sam Darnold & Justin Jefferson were too much for the Hawks’ secondary to handle. They are a tough team to evaluate, and with a loss tonight they would be almost eliminated from making it to the playoffs save for a miracle.
The Bears were easily handled by the much more talented Lions, as their struggles this season continue. Caleb Williams looks solid and much better than I personally expected, but this is still a roster lacking proper leadership and blue-chip talent.
Overall this is not a game that neutral fans will be rushing to their TV to see, and just looks like a filler game on paper. Seattle has something left to play, and I always favor that over the team that is already eliminated, but the Bears’ defense could give Geno Smith plenty of issues.
