Key matchup to start thinking about playoff positioning
Key matchup taking into account the final AFC playoff spot, looking well into the future, as the Steelers (+ 112) host the New York Jets (- 132) in Pittsburgh. This will be the first time Russell Wilson suits up for the Steelers, and also the first time that wide receiver Davante Adams plays for the Jets as he is reunited with Aaron Rodgers. The Jets are currently 1.5-point favourites as clearly the addition of Davante Adams helps their odds a ton.
The Jets lost last week to the Bills in what was the first game after former head-coach Robert Saleh’s firing. Despite yet another hail mary touchdown by Aaron Rodgers, and a valiant effort by running back Breece Hall it was just not enough to get the win, as has been the case more often than not with the Jets, sitting at 2-4.
The Steelers dominated the Raiders en-route to a 32-13 win led by quarterback Justin Fields, who even though the 4-2 start, seems to have lost his job to veteran Russell Wilson. Pittsburgh’s record is a bit misleading considering their wins have come against relatively weak teams, so this is a chance for them to prove it on the big stage against a quality team.
Overall, as the odds predict this seems like a close game on paper, but with the addition of Davante Adams and their backs against the wall I expect New York to come out swinging, and escape Pittsburgh with a win to set them back on track.
