Now at 6-7 on the season following their Week 13 win over the New England Patriots, the Indianapolis Colts’ playoff hopes still remain alive.
At the moment, they are the outside looking in as the No. 8 seed in the AFC, a full two games behind the seventh seed Denver Broncos with only four games to play.
As of Tuesday, December 3rd, BetMGM has the Colts odds of making the playoffs at +220 with an implied probability of them making the postseason at 31.3 percent. If you’d like to hedge your bets, the odds of the Colts missing the playoffs are at -275.
Although making up ground on a two-game deficit with only four games left won’t be an easy task. Helping the Colts is that coming out of the bye week, they do play the Broncos. A win and they make up a full game on Denver and would hold the head-to-head advantage if there’s a tie between the to at the end of the season.
However, to state the obvious, a loss and the Colts are all but eliminated from the playoffs.
Indianapolis’ schedule is also quite favorable to end the season. Prior to the New England game, the Colts had the easiest remaining strength of schedule of any team, with Denver being the game that the Colts have left against a team with a winning record.
For what it is worth, the Colts are 5-1 this season against teams below the .500 mark.
